Techdays 2013

Techdays 2013

After marking the 5th, 6th and 7th of March on the calendar, it was time to have a look at the Techdays 2013 content. Not surprisingly I hit the theme filter and went for the System Center content first.  This brought me to my first sessions on top of my hitlist, including one where I will take a (short) stand on stage as well.

    • For the System Center adepts the top session will be What’s new and improved in Service Pack 1 for the System Center 2012 suite. During this session all members of the System Center User Group (SCUG) will be on stage to guide you through all key improvements and new features in Service Pack 1. Together with MVP Kenny Buntinx I will be talking about Configuration Manager SP1.
    • Runner up for the System Center track is the session called The Application Model in Real Life, hosted by Kim Oppalfens. I am looking forward to attend this session and pick up some guerilla techniques to get me through my next battle with applications.
    • Third session on the list is A Drivers Saga – Mastering Windows Deployment with Johan Arwidmark. Hoping to learn some neat tips and tricks on OSD here.

Time to tweak the filter a bit and here is a session that drew my attention:

    • Having set up a Direct Access lab infrastructure myself recently I would like to attend the Configuring and Implementing DirectAccess with Windows Server 2012 session. Just to see if I followed the right steps and what I could improve on my implementation.

And last but not least this is the final session I marked:

    • Hackers (not) Halted. For the simple reason I heard so many stories about the speaker, but never attended one of her sessions myself before.

Offcourse the sessions is only one aspect of the event, for me another true value is always in the networking opportunities and having the ability to talk with peers and even meet up with old IT friends you have not seen for a long time.

Just thought I’d share my list with you and offcourse I hope to see you at the Techdays!
