System Center Monitoring Pack for System Center 2012 – Virtual Machine Manager Update

The VMM 2012 monitoring pack for System Center Operations Manager 2007, System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2, or System Center 2012 Operations Manager monitors availability of VMM and the availability, health, and performance of all virtual machines and virtual machine hosts that VMM manages.

Issues addressed in this MP update (version v3.0.6019):

Issue 1 “VGS not installed” alerts are triggered for every virtual machine regardless of whether the virtual guest services are installed.
Issue 2

Operations Manager discovery fails with the following error if a host has virtual machines names that combined exceed 255 characters:

Operations Manager discovery failed with error: “Exception of type ‘Microsoft.VirtualManager.EnterpriseManagement.Common.DiscoveryDataInvalidRelationshipSourceExceptionOM10’ was thrown.”.

Issue 3 Virtual Machines in an Unsupported Cluster Configuration state are not reflected properly in Operations Manager.
Issue 4 The Cloud StorageUsageGB monitor fails to go into a warning or critical state when storage usage approaches the defined private cloud capacity.
Issue 5 The “Host has exceeded the supported maximum number of running VMs” alerts are triggered even though the host has not exceeded the maximum number of running virtual machines.
Issue 6 Management pack was not localized in all languages supported by Virtual Machine Manager.
Issue 7  The Total RAM for hosts in the Host Utilization report is reported incorrectly.
Issue 8 The Total Cost provided in the Chargeback Report is incorrect.
