Scugbe: Sysctr night Fall edition 22/10/2015: Meet the speakers

8:55 pm in events by Dieter Wijckmans

A Scugbe System Center evening is cool for talking to your peers and fellow System Center experts… But it’s nothing without good sessions provided by top notch speakers. They commit to give you sessions straight from the field backed up by their knowledge they gained during their work with System Center. The 22nd of October we managed to get again 3 speakers who will share their knowledge with you and of course be available afterwards to answer questions…

Meet your hosts for this evening!

a1dc88c3d12900b548d489576abf1486_400x400 Jan Van Meirvenne has been passionate with IT ever since he saw the Jurassic Park movie on TV. 17 years (2010) later he decided to rectify the biggest mistake in the movie: not using decent management software. Diving head first into the System Center stack ever since his internship he quickly gained a valuable amount of knowledge, becoming an expert on Operations Manager and Orchestrator, while also not being shy of toying with Service Manager and Configuration Manager if the opportunity arises. Being a hobbyist-developer he loves to extend and improve on the standard platforms and offer a deep level of customization possibilities to his customers. Using this versatile and broad knowledge, Jan aims to deliver the right solution for the problem or need at hand with a high quality standard.

Additionally he has proven experience implementing and configuring System Center Operations Manager. As a passionate technologist he also has a broad interest in the other products part of the System Center stack.

DWI_Headshot Dieter is in his mid-30s and is a big fan of technology. He recently received an MVP award for System Center Cloud and Data management.
He’s been active in the IT industry for over 10 years, 12 of which as a freelance consultant.Dieter works at Coretech Benelux as managing Consultant.
As an ITIL certified professional he mainly helps companies streamline their processes and use the right tools to support these processes.
He’s an experienced helpdesk migrator and helpdesk team leader and therefore knows which challenges big companies are confronted with when they adapt their processes to support their activities and more efficiently organize the work of their support staff.
His main focus is on System Center Operations Manager and System Center Service Manager, but he’s also well acquainted with the other products of the System Center suite and other technologies.
He’s an active member in his local Sysctr community and a board member of System Center User Group Belgium.
He’s always trying to find the right balance between manageability and practical relevance.
His motto illustrates his way of working: Don’t overthink it… It’s doing common things uncommonly well that brings success.

This was ECMDAY2015

10:16 pm in events by Dieter Wijckmans

Wow time flies when you’re having fun! It seems like yesterday when we started planning the ECMDAY2015 and now it’s already over… But what a great event it was!

The turn-up was great! A full house (except for the first row for which we actually didn’t charge extra) enjoyed sessions brought by both national and international top notch speakers who are all ECM MVP’s actually.

The day was, as promised, packed with info on the new possibilities with the ECM products making your environment a safer place for your mobile workforce.

We like to take the opportunity to thank you, the audience, our sponsors and the speakers to make this event one of the biggest gatherings of ECM content in Belgium this year. The atmosphere was buzzing in the room with great interaction between speakers and audience.

To make sure you get the most out of this day or when you couldn’t make it and try to catch up, we have posted all the slidedecks on our slideshare space:

The above photo is just an impression of the packed room at the ECMDAY2015.Take a look at our selections of photos taken during the event if you want to relive the buzz or want to peak what you have missed this year but will experience next year:

Not convinced yet you should join next year?

Don’t let us convince you but let the audience convince you to join next year! Some random quotes out of the feedback

"Very nice day!"
"Nice tips"

"Very good event today, learned a lot"
"Nice speakers! Respect! Good job!"

So see you next year!
