Scugbe: Enterprise Management Evening 19/03/14

8:49 pm in events by Dieter Wijckmans

We are proud to announce our second event of the year. This event will again provide you with sessions by top speakers in a nice atmosphere with free beverages and food…

Microsoft Belgium is so kind enough to provide us again with a nice venue on the 19th of march in Brussels.

BestOfMMS_2013-21

We have round up a lot of local experts and MVP’s to provide you with 2 sessions this evening.

We are providing catering and after the sessions we’ll have a drink to connect with peers, local MVP’s and specialists to discuss your findings with the System Center Products.

Make sure to register fast as tickets for past events were going fast and seats are limited.

Program:

  • 18:30 – 19:-00 : Welcome
  • 19:00 – 20:00 : CM12 R2 Custom reporting 101( Kenny Buntinx + Bart Serneels ) Scugbe

Reporting in ConfigMgr 2012 is a powerful way to get information about almost everything in your environment. But sometimes the built-in reports that Microsoft has provided are enough. If you search on how to create a custom report you’ll get several results on the subject , but what most of them lack is how to create the actual query part of the report. You could of course search the internet and hope that someone else has already published a query for exactly what you’re trying to accomplish, but most of the time you’ll not find what you’re looking for. In this session Bart and I will walk through the steps to create a custom reports for usage in the ConfigMgr console, and the best part, you don’t need any heavy knowledge on how to write SQL queries.

  • 20:10 – 20:40 : Break with Pizza or sandwiches
  • 20:45 – 21:45 : SCOM: How to tune & tame the beast with Marnix Wolf (MVP) wmugnl

So you installed SCOM, imported the Management Packs and started monitoring. Now the real fun starts. How about the so famous 360 degree monitoring? Is it only marketing mumbo jumbo or not? How to get the most out of Distributed Applications? How about creating Classes for your specific monitoring needs? And do both – and more – without taking a deep dive into hard core Management Pack authoring? And when SCOM starts having issues, how to solve them? Where to start? In this session Marnix will show you how to get things done in a fast and easy manner. Also he’ll show you how to start troubleshooting in a consistent manner, pinpointing some common issues and how to solve them.

  • 22:00 : Networking (March) Drink at the Huiver (zaventem)

*** Agenda could be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.

MMS-Cover1

It has been a few weeks since the official Microsoft Management Summit 2013 had place in Las Vegas. So it’s time to provide the Belgian System Center Community a nice off-line event to share in-depth System center knowledge/presentations.

During this event we will be joined by Wally Mead, Senior Program Manager for System Center Configuration Manager (aka The Godfather of ConfigMgr).  He’s been in the Configuration Manager product group for the past 20 years, working on all versions of the SMS/Configuration Manager product.

Wally will provide you with 2 in depth sessions. The other sessions will be presented by the Belgian Enterprise Client Management and Cloud & Datacenter MVP’s and other SCUG members with in depth technical knowledge with surrounding System Center technologies.

For the datacenter track we will be joined by Marnix Wolf (MVP). Marnix has an active well known blog and contributed to the SCOM 2012 unleashed book. For his involvement in the community he has received the MVP award for the 4th time in a row now.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to socialize with fellow System Center administrators and consultants to exchange knowledge, meet with one of the most popular Microsoft speakers of all time and have a nice lunch with 2 Belgian ConfigMgr and 5 Cloud and Datacenter MVP’s.

We hope you will join us for an event designed to stimulate new thinking and forge lasting relationships among a remarkable group of IT professionals.

Note: This event will not be recorded so make sure you attend in person to learn about all the new features in System Center!

We will have a lottery where we will give away a TechED Europe 2013 ticket !
