SCSM 2012 : Self Service Portal Setup can’t create a new site
Ok, this is a really stupid one.
Before installing the self service portal I opened up IIS and made sure nothing was running on port 80, because this was the port I wanted to use.
But the Self Service Portal still ended with an error:
An error occurred while executing a custom action: _CreateSharePointWebSite.F175D191_81C3_4A7D_A05B_6A250575B468
This upgrade attempt has failed before permanent notifications were made. Upgrade has successfully rolled back to the original state of the system. Once the correction are made, you can retry upgrade for this role.
I opened up my Sharepoint Administration Console > Application Management > Manage Web applications and noticed there was still a Sharepoint site configured for the port I wanted to install the SCSM SSP on. Either delete the Sharepoint server or use another port.
