DPM 2010 agent installation stuck at 5%
After upgrading from DPM 2007 to DPM 2010 all agents need to be updated. This went fine on all servers but one, a Windows Server 2003 SP2 x86 server.
Agent installation started but was stuck at 5%. When trying a manual agent installation on this server I got an installation failed error related to KB979683 (errors in this package).
To resolve this, I downloaded KB979683 from the Microsoft website, and installed it. Manual installation succeeded afterwards.
Note: Do not forget the setdpmserver command after a manual installation!
