On MMS 2011 Microsoft announced that FEP would be integrate in CoreCal, the Beta for FEP 2012 was released some time ago; time to test this in our Lab:

On Your SCCM server start your FEP2012 “Serversetup.exe”

In the FEP 2012 server setup screen, complete the organization and click Next

On the Microsoft Software License Terms page, review the license agreement. If you accept the terms and conditions, select the I accept the software license terms check box, and then click Next

On the Installation Options page, select Basic topology with remote reporting database, and then click Next

On the Reporting Configuration page I got this message:

Apparently, I need a Configuration manager reporting services point, find the procedure here.

On the Reporting Configuration page, complete the URL and click Next

If you don’t know your url: How to: Configure a URL (Reporting Services Configuration)

I got this message, since it’s a lab environment I click OK

On the Updates and Customer Experience page, select US MS Update to keep my products up to date and Join the Customer Experence Improvement Program, and then click Next

On the Spynet Policy Configuration page, select Join Spynet, keep Basic Spynet Membership and then click Next
Note: advanced membership alerts users which I do not want.

On the Installation Location page click Next

On the Prerequisites verification pageI have some errors to resolve…

After resolving all the issues (All could be resolved by following what was suggested in more) I got all greens and clicked Next

On the Setup Summary page click Install

clip_image026

On the Installation page click Next

clip_image028

On the Installation Complete page, de-select When I click Finish, launch SCCM console, and then click Finish

And we successfully installed FEP2012 beta J
