MDT2012 Beta 1 and SCCM 2012 Beta 2 OS Deployment Part II : Creating a TS media
In Part I we created and deployed the TS for our reference computer. Today will create bootable media for our reference PC. The reference pc is a VM in Hyper-V.
In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to the Software library workspace, expand the Operating Systems and select Task Sequences.
In the Ribbon select Create Task Sequence Media to start the Create Task Sequence Media Wizard
In the Select Media Type screen select Bootable Media and click Next
In the Media Management screen click Next
Note: this is new in SCCM2012
In the Media Type screen complete the Media file location and click Next
In the Security screen unselect Protect media with password and click Next
Note: The Primary user assignment is new in SCCM 2012
In the Boot Image screen click Browse
In the Select A Boot image screen select your boot image and click OK
In the Boot Image screen select the management point, click Add and click Next
In the Customization screen click Next
In the Summary screen click Next
Your media is being created
In the Completion screen click Close
SCCM created your bootable media
Now that we have our bootable media we can test our TS created in Part I on our reference machine! But that’s for a later post
